Elea Technology introduces its new PiCon solutions, a range of inline tools designed to bring real-time transparency and automation to Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) processes. In a free webinar on the 30th of June, the company will offer the first insights into its soon ready-to-implement solution PiCon Sense, along with two new tools, PiCon Vision and PiCon Flow. Participants will gain an exclusive preview of the next generation of PEF process optimisation.
Introducing a New Standard in PEF Process Monitoring and Control
Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology is widely used in the food industry to improve processing efficiency, enabling higher product quality, increase yield and reduce costs through the application of short high-voltage pulses. Particularly in the potato industry, PEF has become an established standard. While PEF technology already delivers proven results across the industry, increased process transparency can unlock additional optimisation potential. By complementing established sampling-based assessments with real-time insights, processors can further enhance consistency, efficiency and operational control.
To address these needs, Elea Technology has developed the PiCon solutions, which consist of three complementary tools designed to monitor different stages of the PEF process.
PiCon Sense: Real-Time Insights from Cutting Processes
PiCon Sense, which is close to industrial implementation, uses AI to analyse acoustic and vibration signals during cutting. This enables real-time process monitoring and adjustment, supporting consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
PiCon Vision: Intelligent Belt Load Monitoring
Currently in development, PiCon Vision combines AI and camera technology to monitor belt load, dirt- and foam detection, helping to reduce energy consumption, optimise capacity, and improve system efficiency.
PiCon Flow: Resource Monitoring for Frying Processes
PiCon Flow, also currently in development, enables precise monitoring of oil and water consumption in frying processes through advanced external flow measurement. The system provides valuable data insights that support resource optimisation, cost reduction and more sustainable production.
Webinar: First insights into the PiCon Tools
On 30th of June 3:00 PM (CEST), Elea Technology will host the webinar “Introducing PiCon: Elea’s New Inline Intelligence for PEF Process Control”. Elea’s Managing Director Prof. Dr. Stefan Toepfl and Food Engineer & PhD student Madita Kirchner will share the latest developments, discuss industrial implementation and demonstrate how the PiCon tools can enhance efficiency, transparency and product quality across PEF applications.
