SOMIC, a leading international provider of end-of-line automation solutions and with its own subsidiary in Thailand since 2023, presented a donation of 1,000,000 Thai Baht to the Beaumont Partnership Foundation at ProPak Asia in Bangkok. The donation will be used, among other things, to fund textbooks for the Beaumont Ruam Pattana School.
“Choosing Thailand as SOMIC’s location was a strategic decision. Key factors were its central geographic location in the Asia-Pacific region, its excellent infrastructure, and its high level of education. We benefit from all of these advantages,”emphasized Dr. Gerhard Huber, Group CEO of SOMIC, in his speech at the check presentation: “But for us, economic success is inextricably linked to responsibility. Our social commitment doesn’t stop at national borders: We are dedicated to ensuring that children from financially disadvantaged families also have the opportunity for a good education. For us, this includes giving back a portion of our success to the community.”
With the donation to the Beaumont Partnership Foundation, SOMIC is supporting an educational project that has a direct and regional impact: The financial assistance for the Beaumont Ruam Pattana School directly benefits children and young people who would otherwise have no or only limited access to quality education.
The symbolic check presentation took place at ProPak Asia in Bangkok. Tim Beaumont, CEO of the Beaumont Partnership Foundation, as well as students and teachers from the Beaumont Ruam Pattana School were present. SOMIC were represented by Dr. Gerhard Huber, SOMIC Group CEO, and Dr. Wilasinee Sangsom, Site Director SOMIC APAC.
Dr. Huber pointed out: “For us, social responsibility means more than just treating our employees fairly and justly. It means looking beyond our own horizons and actively contributing to the communities where we work and live. The branch in the Asia-Pacific region has been part of our SOMIC family since 2023 – and we want our local presence to have a positive impact on society.”
